Welcome to the Racing Dog Retirement Project (RDRP)

We are an all-volunteer, not for profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and finding adoptive homes for retired racing Greyhounds.

We serve the Florida counties of Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, and DeSoto.

Greyhounds placed through RDRP are usually between two and five years of age. These retired racers are very intelligent, adaptable dogs that can easily fit into a new environment following a brief adjustment period.

They are eager to please and respond positively to any attention given them. They become very attached to their new families, and provide their people with many joyous years.

For anyone needing fleece coats for their greyhounds, Kathy Pontillo, greyhound mom, owner of Bone Appetite Pet Store will have them available as of tomorrow January 20th.  Her store is centrally located at 5275 University Pkwy. Sarasota 34201.  The store is in the Kohl's/Fresh Market Plaza.  Proceeds from the sale of coats goes to RDRP.  Also, coats are always available at all Open Houses the second Sunday of each month.
